Dragon fruit is not only a delicious tropical fruit but also one of Vietnam's key agricultural products. The year 2024 continues to reaffirm Vietnam's solid position on the world's agricultural map.
Stable Output, Solid Growth for Vietnam's Dragon Fruit
In 2024, Vietnam produced approximately 841,700 tons of dragon fruit, showing stable growth compared to 2023.
Despite a slight decline in export value in recent years due to stronger price competition from new producers like China, Vietnam’s dragon fruit output remains stable with solid growth, demonstrating the sectors high resilience and adaptability.

Expanding Markets, Diversifying Destinations
China remains Vietnam's largest dragon fruit import market, accounting for about 68% of total export turnover. However, Vietnam is also striving to expand and diversify its export markets:
Impressive Growth: In the first nine months of 2024, markets such as India, the United States, South Korea, and Australia saw strong growth ranging from 25–47%.
Accessing Demanding Markets: Shipments to the European Union (EU) and the Middle East are also expanding through improved logistics and stricter quality control.

Position as the World's Number One "Super Fruit"
Vietnam proudly maintains its position as the world’s largest dragon fruit exporter. This position is cemented by:
Quality and Consistency: Vietnamese dragon fruit is trusted by markets for its high quality and product consistency.
Nutritional Value: Known as one of the most sought-after "super fruits" globally, dragon fruit offers rich nutritional value, meeting the trend of healthy consumption.
Vietnamese dragon fruit is not only the pride of its farmers but also a symbol of Vietnam's integration and sustainable development in international agriculture.
